Meet the Team

Dr. Angela Holley is a long-time member of the Lake Forest family. She started out working part time until her kids got older and started to leave the nest. She is now our full time medical director and we don't know what we would do without her!  She graduated from Virginia Tech and has three great kids, one cat and two very happy dogs.

Dr. Van Scoik moved to our area from Pennsylvania, where she worked in a mixed animal practice. She is a graduate of Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She loves to hike and enjoy time with her kitty River.

I truly have followed my dream.

Since I was very young I have always wanted to be a veterinarian and I never wavered from this goal. I graduated from Colorodo State University in 1993 from veterinary school. 

I have never lost my passion for this profession. I attend continuing education yearly to increase my expertise in many aspects of veterinary medicine. I pursued and am still pursuing advanced veterinary education in multiple fields of study including: ultrasound and radiography, exotic animal species, veterinary dentistry, internal medicine, feline medicine, and soft tissue surgery.

I am passionate about animal care, disease prevention, wellness, and animal advocacy.

I had horses most of my life and was a three day eventer for many years. Currently I love riding my bicycle on the Parkway, hiking, reading, and cooking. I currently have a Golden Retriever named Rigel, three ferrets, chickens, and multiple cats. I have taken in many hadicapped cats that most people are not equipped to care for and take care of them in my home. 

Mandy has been with Lake Forest Animal Hospital since it opened in 1998. She graduated from NVCC with an Associates degree in Animal Science. Mandy does all the paperwork that Leo can't handle and tries to keep the practice running smoothly. 
She has two daughters, two dogs, two cats, a chinchilla, three ferrets, and a bunch of finches. Mandy loves to raise babies, especially wildlife.

Leo is our clinic kitty. Many days you'll see him laying around waiting for head bumps and belly love. We adopted him in 2012 from animal control. He was picked up in pretty rough shape and by the time he was better, we were all in love. 

Cathy has been with us for many years. She is a licensed veterinary technician and many days she is found monitoring anesthesia for our doctors. She has multiple dogs and can be found doing agility with them on her days off. 

Chelsea started with us in August of 2021. She is the hardest working person I have ever met. To add a cherry on top, she is extremely kind and so smart! Chelsea has dogs, cats, pigs and chickens at home! She also does a little rehab on the side. We wouldn't trade her for anything!!

Sharon has been with us for many years. She previously assisted Dr. Amy and then moved to reception afterwards. It's great having an honest and dependable employee like her. 

Amanda has been with us as a CSR for many years. She loves all the doggies!! She has her own adorable boy who comes to day care everyday!! 

Suzanne is probably the sweetest lady you'll ever meet. She has unlimited patience and is always happy to talk to all of our clients! 

Jessica came to us from Addison Animal Hospital! We are so happy to have another CSR. She has 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 beautiful children. 

Cailin started with us in October of 2021. She has enjoyed working with animals so much that she applied and was accepted to the LVT program at Blue Ridge. She has two wonderful cats at home, Carl and Mustache! She also recently got an adorable dog she named Cheers!

Kayla was Dr. Miller's right hand lady when they were at Addison Animal Hospital. She came over with him, and we hope she stays with us for many years. She has a brilliant mind and can remember almost every client and their furkid.

Brittany came over with Dr. Miller, and we are so glad she did! Brittany keeps us on our toes and always makes everyone smile. We are so glad she decided to join the Lake Forest family!

Emma started with us in June of 2023. She has an adorable little Doodle named Luna. She is a little quiet, but is trying hard in our fast paced environment. We are so happy to have such a hard working young lady!

Beth started with us in August of 2024. She is in school to become licensed as an LVT, so we are excited to help her on her journey. She has her own perfect pair at home. One dog and one kitty.

Mariah started in Sept of 2024. We have truly enjoyed getting to know her and has been a great addition to our clinic family.

Melie started with us in January of 2025. She has been working as a dog trainer for the past several years and has previous clinic experience. She has a gentle touch with animals and wants each pet to feel comfortable and safe during their visit to the hospital. In her spare time she enjoys the mountains and the river with her adventure dog or cuddles with her cat. 

Lexy started managing the kennel in March of 2023. She has done a bunch of dog training, dog grooming, and has a lot of experience with pets. She is doing a great job, and we are beyond thankful for her!!!!

Cole started with us in December of 2023. He has quickly become a very dependable and great employee. He is on the way to becoming a dog trainer, being mentored by Lexy!

Katie has been working with us since May of 2024. She has worked in kennel settings before and loves the pets who come into our facility!

Julia came over with the staff from Addison Animal Hospital!! She brings many years of experience with her and we are so happy she's here.

Nia started with us in October of 2023. She loves every dog who comes to stay with us and enjoys learning more about each pet!

Teresa started working with us in Jan of 2025. She has quickly become friends with all the pets who stay with us!

Miles started working with us in Jan of 2025 and certainly has a way with pets!! He can get a tail wag from anyone!

Jade has been grooming for about 15 years and has been with Lake Forest for much of that time. She loves what she does and it shows. Her clients, both human and four-legged, adore her!

Haley is a long time groomer who started working with us in early 2025. She is highly knowledgeable and always has a bright smile on her face! She enjoys attending various events with her Aussies (agility and other competitions) and we are happy to have her here with us.
